Let me tell you that this class was very nice for me because since the beginning students were enjoying the warm-up and the activities they were doing. The first day of class, I thought this group was shy and they didn’t like to participate a lot, but today, I noticed that they enjoyed working together and making bodily-kinesthetic activities, so I took advantage of that. Thanks God, today, I didn’t teach grammar so I had the opportunity to make free activities for them to practice the prepositions of place. I liked the last activity I did because I make groups in which each one had to make a drawing emphasizing the prepositions of place, and students were exciting drawing some items in the paper I provided. Then, they had to explain in front of the class the drawings they made and the rest of the students were paying attention to the drawings and the sentences they said. When my class was over everybody was happy and me too…. hehe.... I feel good because I had less mistakes and I enjoyed teaching today, I think that is the most important. =)
You see... when we enjoy our work, students also enjoy it. Congratulations Mingrid...
ReplyDeleteKeep working!
That's the attitude! We cannot know if a group is nice since the first class. Now you know better your group, so you know what kind of the activities they like. Some days are good and some others not. Keep a good attitude and you will enjoy teaching.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we emphasize a bad attitude toward our students by labeling them as bored or lazy, but the truth is that we do not know them very well. We as practitioners must pay special attention to this because it is difficult for us to know a group of students because of the time as we just teach one hour once a week. When you know your students is very easy to connect with them and the class becomes more enjoyable. i now can say that you got a good deal with them, EXCELLENT!!!
